Mounting African big game presents its own unique challenges. Most animals have little if any hair. We have developed special techniques to blend in all stitching associated with incisions and skin repairs. Muscle definition is especially important to African mounts as most animals have little or no hair to conceal the various muscle and veining structures. Your safari was an enormous investment of time and money, the preservation of your African trophies should not be left in the hands of a commercial production taxidermist.

Call us before departing on your next safari. We will handle the importation of your trophies and discuss all your mounting options

The wrinkling in the ear of a Cape buffalo is one of this animal’s most dominating features. Reproduction of this feature requires careful sculpting after a close study of the ear’s natural skin wrinkling patterns.

Cape buffalo

The intimidating look in the eyes of a Cape buffalo can only be achieved through airbrushing a variety of colors onto the eyeball. This is a feature very few taxidermists incorporate into their mount. The veining along the muzzle is also an important feature that is often overlooked.

At Pioneer Taxidermy the pursuit of perfection results in excellence.
